Organic acids are metabolic intermediates produced in pathways of central energy production, detoxification and neurotransmitter breakdown. Accumulation of specific organic acids in urine often signals a metabolic inhibition or block. This abnormality can be due to a nutrient deficiency, an inherited enzyme deficit, toxic buildup or drug effect.
A microbial organic acids urine test helps reveal activity and changes at the metabolic level.
We also offer the full Great Plains Organic Acid test – found here
The Microbial Organic Acid Test (MOAT) reports 21 metabolites. This includes creatinine. The metabolites include products of beneficial and harmful bacteria, Clostridia species, Candida and other yeast species, plus mould and fungal metabolites. This provides an understanding of dysbiosis.
